CHOOSING YOUR FLOORING

Koa Vinyl Planks - Island Contractor

Picking the flooring that is right for your home can be a daunting task.

There are so many materials to choose from and each time has a gamut of options to go with it. Our experiences, honest, and professional team ensures our customer’s needs are of the utmost importance and your satisfaction is our number one priority.

So which flooring is right for you? Hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl, or eco-friendly cork or bamboo?

Vinyl

Vinyl is one of the most value-conscious options today. It is a popular choice in rooms that are prone to moisture problems. They are easy to clean and softer underfoot than tile.

Hardwood:

Hardwood is a traditional favorite and is the flooring choice for many homeowners. Of the hardwoods, oak remains the most popular choice, but other woods like cherry and imported exotic woods such as Brazilian cherry or Tasmanian oak are worth considering. There are a variety of hardwood finishes and we are here to help you choose the best fit for your home.

Laminate

Laminate flooring is a popular flooring choice. It is easier to install than solid-wood hardwood floors and it is a cheaper option. Laminate floors are composed of different wood-based materials that are layered, or laminated, together then topped with a wood grain photographic imprint on the face of each board.

Linoleum/Sheet Vinyl

This is an eco-friendly option; it is made of all-natural materials and does not deplete forests. It is primarily made of linseed oil, rosins, and wood flour. Since this flooring is made of natural materials, it creates no health issues during production, installation, use, or disposal.

Tile

Porcelain is another popular choice as is terra cotta and natural stone, such as marble, granite, travertine, or slate. Porcelain is the most cost-effective option of tile. It combines the look and hardness of stone, but costs less and is easier to maintain than marble.

Bamboo

The material used to create bamboo floors is not a tree, but a lightweight woody grass. This fast-growing, regenerating plant has the tensile strength of steel, which makes for a highly durable floor that resists swelling and contraction with changes in humidity. Bamboo flooring is pre-finished and engineered with tongue-and-groove joints, just like standard solid wood flooring.

Concrete

Concrete is a popular flooring option today. It can be stamped and stained to resemble polished marble, tumbled stone, brick pavers, or anything you wish. Concrete holds up like no other flooring.
